Saw it mentioned somewhere the hydrophobic could be wet with a solvent first. .
Perhaps I should leave out a few ML of BB from the mix when I prefilter with the .45, then when final filtering with the hydrophobic .22, put those reserved BB ML's through first followed by the pre-filtered mix
Perhaps I wont need to do that. Perhaps my test ace and test prop will crash with a few ML of BB in the prefilter process?
I am going to use half EO, mayeb some pure EO will wet the hydrophobic filter and let it flow. Not sure if I am using EO, going to do a test injection with it to see if I tolerate it.
I have only brewed once before so any insights are appreciated. Thanks
Good luck daddio! Im not familiar with filters and all the knowledge that goes with it. I just know basic brewing instructions, so i havent anything useful to add aside from if you can do without the Ethyl Oleate , i suggest doing it. Even if it doesnt bother you
I tested straight prefiltered GSO with the hydrophobic .22 pvfd and it was smooth with a 3mm syringe. At first it seemed like maybe it was locked up, but I flipped it upside down and squeezed the airbubbles from the syringe through and it flowed after that. I expect 10mm to be a little harder cause "hydraulic leverage" (increased surface area of the inside of the 10mm cylinder vs the same size hole), but the hydrophobia doesnt seem to be a problem.
