Rudy Kadlub (100KG) Sets Masters Raw (w/Wraps) World Record Total of 590 Kilograms
74-year-old powerlifter Rudy Kadlub has multiple Masters world records to his name. At the Lane Event Center in Eugene, OR, on Nov. 19-23, 2023, at the International Powerlifting League (IPL) World Championships, Kadlub competed in the 100-kilogram raw (w/wraps) class and added more strength accolades to his mantle.
Kadlub scored two IPL Masters world records — squatting 217.5 kilograms (479.5 pounds) and deadlifting 235 kilograms (518 pounds) — en route to a Masters world record 590-kilogram (1,301-pound) total. Check out both world record lifts in the videos below, courtesy of Kadlub’s Instagram page:

“The goal going into this meet was to set the all-time/all-federation world record Total,” Kadlub wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. In the first video, Kadlub squatted 217.5 kilograms (479.5 pounds) in knee wraps with steady form and a smooth ascent out of the hole.
In the deadlift, Kadlub pulled 235 kilograms (518 pounds) in a sumo stance with a mixed grip. He holds the barbell at lockout for a moment after receiving the down command from the judge to ensure he’d receive three white lights for the lift.
This is living proof that one can gain muscle and strength at any age!
Here is Kadlub’s full performance:
