Yesterday, news broke that Ronda Rousey will be starring in a remake of 80's cult film 'Road House', and will be playing a role made popular by Patrick Swayze. The UFC champ and Dana White have both since addressed the film role, with Rousey going on social media to speak about it.
"It is a great honor to play a part in celebrating the life of a man that inspired so many. I couldn't be more grateful to have this opportunity to pay respect to the beloved Patrick Swayze," Rousey wrote. "I promise to work incessantly to make sure this project is a tribute to his family and fans can be proud of."
White on the other hand, spoke about it with Fox Sports Live.
"I'm happy for her," the UFC president stated. "I'm actually a big road house fan, I love that movie. It's a classic and I'm happy for her. She's just learning, and she will only get better."
Rousey is the UFC's biggest cross-over star today, and has had multiple movie roles in big budget films such as Fast 7, Expendables 3, and Entourage. Next on her agenda is a title defense against former boxing champ Holly Holm, then she will move on to several films that now have her take on much bigger starring roles.
