Hany Rambod, renowned bodybuilding coach, trainer, and entrepreneur, has announced his retirement from professional physique coaching. Rambod, dubbed by the bodybuilding industry as “the Pro Creator,” is perhaps the sport’s most prolific coach of all time.
- Rambod’s athletes over the years have won division titles at the Olympia, bodybuilding’s most prestigious event, a cumulative 25 times.
Rambod made the announcement on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024 — hours prior to the EVLS Prague Pro show, where his most famous athlete will make his expected farewell from the bodybuilding stage for good.
Hany Rambod: Bodybuilding’s Pro Creator
The Prague Pro runs from Nov. 16 to 17 in the Czech Republic. Chris Bumstead, whom Rambod has shepherded to three of Bumstead’s six Olympia titles in the Classic Physique division, will compete there for the first time in the Men’s Open division.
- Bumstead formally retired from the Classic Physique Olympia on stage in October but decided to appear in Prague for fun alongside friend-turned-competitor Martin Fitzwater.

It appears Rambod will also make Prague his swan song. Bumstead is far from the only big-name bodybuilder to be taken under Rambod’s wing. Over his multi-decade career, Rambod has helped some of the sport’s modern greats get into, or back into, top-tier shape, including:
- Phil Heath, seven-time Mr. Olympia
- Jay Cutler, four-time Mr. Olympia
- Cydney Gillon, eight-time Ms. Figure Olympia
- Lauralie Chapados, 2024 Ms. Bikini Olympia
- Derek Lunsford, 2023 Mr. Olympia
- Hadi Choopan, 2022 Mr. Olympia
“My son is going to be 12 years old soon, and I truly want to be more involved in his activities and daily life — something my wife has mainly taken on up until this point,” Rambod explained. “I don’t want to miss any more moments.”
Rambod received a standing ovation on social media after announcing his decision to pull back from physique coaching to prioritize time with his family.

- Lunsford said, “[With] the amount of effort you put into your athletes, you deserve quality time with your family.”
- Chapados said, “Thankful for the standard you held in the sport as a man in the industry.”
- The Arnold Sports Festival added, “Congrats on an incredible journey and legacy that you have created.”
Rambod joins high-profile coach Matt Jansen, who also announced he would pull back from bodybuilding coaching shortly after the 2024 Olympia to prioritize his family and businesses.
