Patrick Vellner Wins 2023 Rogue Invitational
The 2023 Rogue Invitational is over. Laura Horvath emerged victorious over Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr in the final event to take the overall win for the Individual Women. For the Individual Men, Patrick Vellner held a 65-point lead over reigning Fittest Man on Earth® Jeffrey Adler heading into the last event. That was plenty of breathing room, and Patrick Vellner is the 2023 Rogue Invitational champion.
This is Vellner’s second Rogue Invitational title. His first was won in 2020. Below are the full results for the Individual Men’s division at the 2023 Rogue Invitational:

Adler was heard telling Jayson Hopper after the final event concluded, “Something I’m learning this year: it’s never over ’til it’s over.” While Adler couldn’t overcome the 90-point deficit Vellner put between them, Adler closed the gap by a significant margin. Ultimately, Vellner’s consistency toward the top of most events was the difference maker.
Vellner never won an event but had four finishes in the top three. Compared to Adler, they both spent all but one event each in the top 10. However, Vellner landed in the top three on four occasions, and Adler only did so in his two event wins. While event wins can certainly buffer a point total, consistency at the top over a long competition spanning four days is even more important.
