After Scoring Massive KO, What’s Next for Tyson Fury?
After knocking out Dillian Whyte, what’s next for Tyson Fury?
After putting in a masterful performance against Dillian Whyte, what could be next for Tyson Fury? With so many different options on the table, there’s no shortage of opportunities for Fury. A match with one or two dangerous heavyweight boxers; a possible bout with a UFC champion; it’s clear that Fury has a number of options.
So what should be the next move for Tyson Fury? Let’s take a look at a few options for the WBC heavyweight champion.
Option 1: Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua Winner
Perhaps the most obvious choice for next match up is a battle between the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua rematch. Tyson Fury has yet to fight either man and a boxing match with either of the two would determine who the absolute king of the modern heavyweight division is.
While Anthony Joshua has a number of losses on his ledger, a match with him would undoubtedly be must see television. A bout against the undefeated Oleksandr Usyk would be just as compelling. Usyk soundly defeated Joshua and has a style that could potentially give Tyson Fury trouble.
Fighting either man would certainly be a welcome treat for the fans.
Option 2: Francis Ngannou
Perhaps one of the more intriguing options for Tyson Fury is a potential match up with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. Having wanted to box got quite some time, Ngannou has been campaigning to show his striking in the boxing ring.
While the benefits for Francis Ngannou would be quite significant with a win or a loss, Tyson Fury may find the prospect of a match with the UFC champion less than enticing. If Fury beats Ngannou then it would come as no surprise. Should he lose to Ngannou it would be a major blemish on his record.
With that said it would definitely be an intriguing match up, one that would garner a great deal of attention.
Option 3: Retirement
The third option is one that could likely be the next move for the WBC champion. If what he said in the ring wasn’t a bargaining tactic, Tyson Fury could likely retire. No athlete can compete forever and Fury has already achieved a great deal during his tenure as heavyweight kingpin. With an epic trilogy of fights against Deontay Wilder under his belt, Fury has already cemented himself in the greatest of all time conversation.
If his final bout was indeed against Dillian Whyte then it’s safe to say Tyson Fury had one heck of a career.
What do you think Tyson Fury should do next?
