3 Athletes Who Turned Heads at 2025 TYR Wodapalooza

Every year, TYR Wodapalooza seems to be a coming-out party for at least a couple of athletes.

Last week’s fitness festival in Miami Beach, FL, was no exception.

Beyond Campbell, a handful of performances turned heads and are worth noting as we head into the 2025 CrossFit Games season.

Astrid Tind (12th, Women’s Elite Division)

If you watched the live feed last weekend, the name Astrid Tind was one you likely had to Google after Day 1.

Tind, who has competed at the CrossFit Games on a team twice, went on to finish 12th overall in a competitive field and followed that up with a second-place finish with Team NUSA.

Though she did show some weak points in her game along the way, Tind was impressive on all four days of competition and is definitely someone to keep an eye on as this season unfolds.

Jack Farlow (8th place, Men’s Elite Division)

OK, so fans of the sport were already familiar with Farlow’s name before Wodapalooza, but his performance last weekend reminded us of his talent.

Remind me: Farlow burst onto the scene at the 2023 CrossFit Games when he won the Olympic Total event by 21 pounds as a 21-year-old rookie. He finished 27th overall.

At last week’s TYR Wodapalooza, Farlow showed us just how good he can be.

He had four top-10 performances (out of six), and two top five finishes. His best finish was on “Worth the Weight” (1-rep max clean + hang clean), where he was second behind only Gui Malheiros.

Max Krieg (9th place, Men’s Elite Division)

Like Tind, the name Max Krieg may have even eluded devout CrossFit fans prior to last weekend when he put together a top-10 performance against some of the fittest men in the world.

In Miami last week, Krieg had three top-five finishes, including a third-place finish on “Cuban Press,” and proved he just might be in the mix this season, vying for one of 30 invites to this summer’s CrossFit Games in Albany, NY.

The Big Picture

The season is young, and TYR Wodapalooza isn’t the be-all, end-all in determining who we should be keeping our eye on in 2025.

With that being said, Tind, Farlow, and Krieg are three athletes who should be feeling pretty good about their fitness.
