2025 TYR Wodapalooza Day 3 Recap: Team YETI Outkasts On Top After 3 Events

After two chilly days at the 2025 TYR Wodapalooza, the clouds parted on Saturday morning, welcoming the Elite Teams of Three.

The women took the floor first.

Remind Me: The Elite Team Division at TYR Wodapalooza was seeded with Apollo Performance’s strength rankings. These rankings are based on the individuals collectively on the team and their overall performance in individual competition, combining them.

Day 3 Recap

Event 1: Overhead Squad

The team competition started by going heavy. The reps could be broken up however the athletes chose.

For Time:

  • 30 Overhead Squats, 205/145 pounds
  • 20 Overhead Squats, 245/175 pounds
  • 10 Overhead Squat, 275/195 pounds

Time Cap: 8 minutes

Team Las Mexas X Picsilmx, led by two-time LATAM Cup champ Mariana Meza with Paulina Haro and Ana Castañeda, came out firing in the first heat, finishing with a blistering time of 3:33.

The final heat was filled with icons, including “The Dottirs,” made up of Annie Thorisdottir, Sara Sigmundsdóttir, and Katrin Davidsdottir.

However, the Froggy Girls Who Don’t Run (Dani Speegle, Kyra Milligan, and Olivia Kerstetter) pulled out the win. Kerstetter started on the first bar and also took the anchor leg, completing the final 10 overhead squats unbroken.

Event 1 Results

  1. Froggy Girls Who Don’t Run (3:03.18)
  2. LittleMcDottir Coming in Hotter (3:05.87)
  3. Tres Leches (3:12.85)

The women then moved over to the Reign Total Body Fuel Sandbox to take on Event 2.

Event 2: Block Party

The teams now had to face the sand dunes that caused the individual athletes such problems earlier in the weekend. There were two heats.

3 Rounds For Time:

  • Team block carry and sled drag
  • 27 bar muscle-ups
  • Team block carry and sled drag
  • 27 synchro burpees

Time Cap: 14 minutes

Team NUSA, made up of Frederikke Mollerup, Astrid Tind Petersen, and Mia Furu, took the first heat, narrowly edging out Silja Zillo, Freja Dueland Gravsen, and Pernille Kristensen of Team EYDA in a sprint across the sand.

The ladies now sat back to see how the second and final heat unfolded.

The transitions played a key role throughout this workout, with a smart strategy for how to move the equipment back and forth across the sand, allowing Swedish House Mafia (Emma Tall, Lena Richter, and Emelie Lundberg) to just edge out the YETI Outkasts (Danielle Brandon, Emma Lawson, Shelby Neal).

Event 2 Results

  1. Swedish House Mafia (12:00.39)
  2. Yeti Outkasts (12:00.56)
  3. Relyte Salt Baes (12:21.28)

Event 3: Worm Up, Hands Down

Out of the sand and onto solid ground, the teams closed out Saturday inside TYR Arena.

For Time:

  • 15 worm clean and jerks
  • 20/15 cal Echo Bike each, all 3 athletes at same time
  • Relay 2×15-meter handstand walk
  • 20/15 cal Echo Bike each, all 3 athletes at same time
  • 15 worm clean and jerks

Time Cap: 14 minutes

Event 3 started fast and furious with the worm and the Echo bike, but the handstand walk relay slowed down several teams in the first heat.

It was a race at the end of the third heat with LittleMcDottir Coming in Hotter and British Frog Squad (Lucy Campbell, Jennifer Muir, and Tayla Howe) on the worm, but neither team could beat Team Kriger (Ragnhild Seim, Oda Lundekvam, and Vår Thurmann-Moe), whose quick finish (6:04) from the second heat stood.

In the final heat, Dani Speegle of Froggy Girls Who Don’t Run was sent back to repeat her first handstand walk after drifting over to a nearby lane, but the team still managed to grab second in the heat.

Event 3 Results

  1. Team Kriger (6:02.53)
  2. Team NUSA (6:30.72)
  3. British Frog Squad (6:37.94)

The Big Picture

The YETI Outkasts (279) will take a 12-point lead over LittleMcDottir Coming in Hotter (267) into the second day. Swedish House Mafia (240) sits in third, with Relyte Salt Baes (231) and Team NUSA (228) not far behind.

There are still 300 points available on Sunday, and with half the events to go, it’s still anyone’s game.
