212 Bodybuilding Athletes to Watch

Below are the athletes likely to contend for the win in the 212 division in London:

Lucas Coelho

Lucas Coelho finished the 2021 season on the Olympia stage with a 12th-place overall rank. He took the 2022 season off and then made his return in 2023 at the Mr. Big Evolution Pro, where he finished fourth.

This is Coelho’s first pro contest in England, where he hopes to score a win and qualification to return to the Olympia. He has great shape and symmetry, but how conditioned he is onstage will determine his placing.

Naser Mohamed

Kuwait’s Naser Mohamed was one spot ahead of Coelho in the 2023 Mr. Big Evolution contest. Prior to that, Mohamed ranked 13th at the 2022 Olympia 212 contest. He has had success in the United Kingdom, including a win at the 2022 Arnold Classic UK 212 contest — his only pro win thus far.

Daniel Sticco

Sticco competed in the 2023 Mr. Big Evolution contest to a fifth-place finish behind winner Roman Iushchenko. Sticco qualified for the 2022 Olympia 212 contest on points but finished outside the top 15. He can’t rely on points to qualify for 2023; he has to win, and the cutoff date for qualifying is Oct. 9, 2023.

Bikini Division Favorites to Watch

Below are the likely favorites to score well in first callouts for the Bikini division:

Noora Mahonen

Norra Mahonen came within one spot of winning the 2023 1 Bro Pro show, but the judges voted in favor of Eszter Oczella. Mahonen has two pro wins to her credit, scored in 2019. She seeks to break her four-year slide and qualify for the Bikini Olympia for the first time since 2020 when she finished outside the top 15.

Kristina Brunauer

Kristina Brunauer will enter her sixth pro show of the 2023 season. Her highest rank thus far was as the runner-up at the 2023 Poland Pro. She has finished in the top five in four of her five previous contests. Ranking high is important, but she has to close to reach the Olympia. Should she succeed, it would be the third-year pro’s third pro win and second Olympia qualification.

Stine Hansen

Stine Hansen will make her 2023 season debut in this contest. The 2020 British Grand Prix champion aims for her second pro win after qualifying for the 2022 Olympia on points, ranking outside of the top 15. If she wins in London, she will grace the Olympia stage for the third straight year.

Amateur events for all 11 divisions will be featured at this show as well.
